BAAA Officially Names World Team To Berlin

The local track and field federation officially named its team to compete at the International Association of Athletic Federations World Track and Field Championships in Berlin, Germany from August 15th-23rd.

The team will consist of 24 athletes with veterans Chandra Sturrup, Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie, Levan ‘Superman’ Sands and Chris Brown heading the field.

Following a fitness test held on Friday at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium, multiple World Championships 4x400 meter relay silver medalist Nathaniel McKinney was confirmed to the team for the men's 200 meters after running 20.6 seconds in a trial run.

McKinney had already met the ‘B’ standard for the World Championship after a 20.67 second clocking earlier this season.
